Fat-soluble vitamins — with meals
Vitamins A, D, E, K require fat for proper absorption. Always take them with a meal containing at least 10g of fat — avocado, olive oil, nuts.
Magnesium — in the evening
Magnesium relaxes muscles and the nervous system. Taking it 1 hour before bed improves sleep quality and can shorten time to fall asleep. Bisglycinate and L-threonate forms work especially well in the evening.
Iron — on an empty stomach or with vitamin C
Iron absorbs best on an empty stomach. Vitamin C increases its bioavailability — combine 100mg iron with orange juice. Avoid coffee and tea for 2 hours — tannins and chlorogenic acid block absorption.
Vitamin D3+K2 — in the morning with a meal
Taking D3 in the morning (with fat) may support circadian rhythm and not disrupt sleep. K2 as MK-7 has a long half-life, so timing is less critical.
B-complex — in the morning
B vitamins have energizing effects and can disrupt sleep. Always take them in the morning.
